by Axel Magnient During my journey in NYC, I decided to volunteer for a non-profit. What better way to improve my English skills, submerge myself into the local culture, and meet new people than by giving back to the community? I thought. After some research, I found Computers 4 People and was directly motivated by their mission. Nowadays, technology has a huge impact in our daily life and can be considered as essential. However, price or lack of knowledge can lead to unequal access. Computers 4 People’s mission is to fight to reduce these disparities. As a 21-year-old man, I thought this organization was a great way to meet people my age while contributing to the community. A day after arriving in the United States, I decided to visit Computers 4 People.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my volunteer work was helping collect and prepare computers for donation. I had the opportunity to pick up computers, prepare computer tote bags, and participate in donations droff-off with Jean.
As technology continues to evolve, organizations like Computers 4 People play a vital role in ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital age. My journey with this non-profit not allowed me to contribute to a meaningful cause, and helped me form lasting connections and explore the cultural diversity of the United States. If you're in New York City and want to make a difference in the lives of those in need while also building unforgettable memories, I highly recommend joining Computers 4 People. It's not just about computers; it's about connecting, learning, and making a positive impact on the world. He found his calling with Computers 4 People, channeling his energy into bridging digital divides and making a lasting impact in the community.
